Character Name: Daichi Shijima
Series: Devil Survivor 2
Age/Gender: 18, Male
Canon Point: During the final battle with Polaris on the 8th day.

Daichi is coming from his ending route, where the protagonist sides with his team. Following the final battle with Polaris, time is rewinded to before the events of the 8 days.
Personality:
On the surface, Daichi can seem very, very neurotic. It seems like nearly everything can send him off into a panic attack. However, one must consider the situations that he's in when these panic attacks occur. The world is going to hell around him, creatures he thought never existed are appearing, and he suddenly has to fight for his life. His reaction is the normal fear reaction to sudden and dangerous changes like what happened to his world. However, he might be a little anxious when it comes to more mundane situations as well. When he meets the protagonist after taking his practice exam, he says that he's "done for six ways to Sunday," indicating just how badly he feels he did on the exams.
Such a statement also ties into his self-esteem issues; he has rather poor self-confidence and this tends to cut into how he behaves. Throughout the story, he strictly believes that he is "just a normal high school student," and it shows when he refuses to fight on multiple occasions. He has something of an external locus of control; he seems to believe that he is too average to truly influence the events around him and that control is best placed in the hands of others that he feels are more capable. When he is kidnapped, he begins to doubt his worth and feels that he is useless to the team because of how he messed up. His doubts are assuaged in the end, but they still stick to his personality strongly. Alternately, he cuts himself down a lot despite what other people say about him.
This is not to say he's completely spineless, however. When push comes to shove, Daichi will definitely do what he can. At the end of his Fate route, when one of his friends is in trouble with a swarm of demons, he hot-bloodedly charges into battle to prove himself and show that he, too, can "man up." Towards the end of the game, when the team of demon tamers seems to be split between Ronaldo and Yamato (two powerful figures who advocate very extreme views of building a new world), Daichi has the inner strength to declare that he doesn't want to cave in to either of their paths. While he doesn't have his own plan for the new world established yet, he knows very clearly what he wants: a path where the friends aren't fighting each other. He's got clear principles and the will to stick to them.
Special Abilities: Daichi had the ability to summon demons and use skills with the use of the Demon Summoning App on his cell phone. This is, of course, rendered moot by the fact that A) he can't summon anything in the afterlife and B) his cell phone probably won't make it to the afterlife with him.
How did your character die? During the final battle, Polaris used his Supernova cannon-laser attack. Daichi was killed when he shoved the protagonist out of the way and took the brunt of the attack in his place. This death is appropriate because in-game, Supernova is very, very damaging, even to high-level teams. Outside of that, Daichi would definitely not want to see the protagonist die, so perhaps he dove in to save him on impulse (a justified impulse, but one nonetheless).
